Delhi HC Issues Show-Cause Notice To Omaxe By ugesh sarkar, Section Punjab Real Estate
The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to real estate major Omaxe asking why the company should not be wound up over the issue of refund of money to its customer due to the alleged delay in construction.
A single-member bench of Justice S K Mishra has issued notice to Omaxe Construction (now Omaxe Ltd) directing it to file its reply on it. "Let notice (be) issue(d) to the respondent (Omaxe) to show cause why the company be not wound up," he said. The court's direction came on a petition by Ritika Pvt Ltd, which had booked space in Omaxe Mall, Ludhiana, for a showroom. As per the agreement, Omaxe was to complete construction and hand over possession by December 2007, Ritika Pvt Ltd submitted before the court. It had already paid Rs 4.
